NAAC Peer Team Visit

Our college went through its 2nd cycle of assessment and accreditation with the visit of the esteemed NAAC Peer Team which was enlightened by –

At the outset the team looked at the overall composition, functioning, infrastructure and achievements of our college over a period of time as presented by the Chair. The activities and the initiatives of the IQAC were the next focus of attention as continuous upgradation is imperative for a college which is over half a century old. The departments, which form the academic core, were assessed with the team looking at teaching-learning methods and innovations, research contribution, seminars and workshops organized and laboratory facilities. The various support services like the NCC, NSS and the Women’s Cell were much appreciated. The team visited the second campus where the Computer Science and Geography departments received them for assessment of their performance. The college playground adjacent to the historic Eden Gardens was also part of their itinerary for evaluation. The visitors saw the college canteen, received feedback from the students, guardians and alumni about different curricular and extra-curricular activities and were highly impressed by the students’ performance in the cultural programme presented in the large college auditorium. Last, but not the least, visiting the Office, the Accounts section and checking documentary evidence for whatever we have shown formed the most rigourous part of their exercise. The preparations on the part of the college – which started over a year before with the compilation of data for the Re-Accreditation Report (RAR) – were rewarded when, much to our delight, it was found a couple of weeks later, that Bangabasi Morning College had an “A” Grade against its name displayed in the NAAC website.
